From Sports to Outer Space

It has been about a month now since I tackled this project. It all started while my husband was away for a few days on a guys trip to Colorado. I decided to paint our son's room and change his theme from sports to outer space. I was determined to get his room done before my hubby got home! I wanted this to be a rare chance where I could accomplish a project on my own without needing his help and without adding more to his "honey-do" list. So I took our 7 year old to the hardware store to pick out paint (that was interesting) and to get supplies. I was grateful that my in-laws offered to take our little guy to the carnival that was in town and keep him overnight. That meant I could work uninterrupted and he would be just as surprised as daddy. I worked into the wee hours of the morning painting, I didn't stop to think about our 9 foot ceilings and what challenges that might offer. The next day I did some touch ups and managed to put the finishing touches on the room as both my son and hubby were arriving home. I was so happy to see their excitement over what I had worked so hard to finish. I was bursting with pride over what I was able to accomplish! I still have bedding and curtains to get, but it is finished....

I found these fun decals at Menards

One of the framed artworks I created and the BLAST OFF artwork was a Free Printable from Pinterest.

Our son's art wall and another decal, this one I bought at Hobby Lobby and then added the moon and stars from the space decals.

Our Old House

It has been 2 years since we moved into our home. We have tackled a lot of projects since that time. I am blessed with a husband who is very handy and can do almost anything. He absolutely amazes me! His knowledge has allowed us to do every ounce of our remodel on our own. We have worked side by side on many of the projects. My husband has been very patient with me while I learn along side of him. I appreciate his willingness to teach me even though I may not always understand what he is talking about. We are great balance. He is the designer, the builder and the one who sees the big picture. I am the decorator! :)

I recently took several photos of our home, from the custom barn dutch door built by my husband from scratch to the small decorative touches I have added. I thought I would share them with all of you. We are blessed to be part of the history of this home.

For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.  ~Hebrews 3:4

Our House (aka The Barn House)

I love our large front porch! What is not shown is the porch swing & adirondack lounge chair.

Our porch has clearly gone to the birds!

My piano! One of my favorite spots in the house!

Decal reads..."As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

I LOVE our dining table! There is lots of laughter and memories shared here!

My Grandma's china hutch and the barn dutch door my hubby made for our downstairs doorway.

No Place Like Nebraska

I was born in Florida and when I was about a year old we moved to Nebraska and we have been here since. I love everything there is about Nebraska! For all my fellow Husker loving fans, I created a printable just for you! Enjoy! All you have to do is click on the image and save to your computer. This print is to be used for personal use only. Thank you!
